My journey began with a small portion of the nine hectares that make up the property, transforming the land into a vineyard of Nero d’Avola trained on trellises and pruned with the Guyot method. Over time, I expanded the variety of grapes, introducing Grillo, Catarratto, and Perricone, with the aim of prioritizing native grape varieties to ensure a deep connection with this extraordinary land.
THE LAND
MY ADVENTURE AT THE FOOT OF MONTAGNA GRANDE
I chose to take care of a piece of paradise at the foot of Montagna Grande, just a stone’s throw from Trapani. A wild and captivating land with endless agricultural landscapes, sparsely populated and often forgotten by man, yet rich in potential.

THE VINEYARDS
My vineyard, planted in 1998, is a small oasis where nature reigns supreme. The vines are “light,” with a limited production and a leaf structure perfectly balanced to meet the plant’s needs without waste. In this delicate balance, I use only organic amendments, compost derived from the natural decomposition of pruning residues, and, when necessary, certified organic manure.
As with any agricultural activity that respects the land, the vines must defend themselves from threats like powdery mildew and downy mildew. However, this is done responsibly and with the utmost respect for the surrounding environment.

SUSTAINABILITY
AND BIODIVERSITY

On my farm, I have fully embraced the concept of sustainability and biodiversity. This means that every decision, from soil management to plant care, is made with the intention of preserving the local ecosystem: soil, flora, and fauna.

For me, the use of chemicals is an option to be avoided. I prefer manual labor, integrated defense methods, and agronomic practices that respect nature. My farm is a balanced ecosystem where every element is vital, and every action helps to keep it intact.
